The year 2009 was the first time Garner became an artist ambassador for Save the Children U.S.A. This role involves promoting literacy and nutrition in the United States in addition to early schooling. Garner has served on the board since the year 2014. Garner promotes early childhood learning. Garner has visited many families as part of Early Steps to School Success - a program designed to teach parents how to help their child's learning - as an ambassador.
