April Lockhart

April Lockhart (born July 4 April, 1995) began her musical journey as a 7th grader when she took guitar and piano classes. At the age of seven April started taking piano and guitar lessons. It sparked her interest in writing songs. As April approached 14 years old, she spent the majority of her time creating song ideas and perfecting her music. In the following months, April started going across NY and LA along with her dad in order for them both compose songs. April was also able to add other themes in the track "Take My Hand" to help her acquaintances who faced problems like peer pressure, issues, or even teenager suicide. Lockhart, a popular lifestyle influencer as well as working in partnerships with clean beauty brands Ilia and YSL, has cultivated a large following. The truth is that she was born with no left hand. This is what makes her different. It's not the only thing about her. Lockhart's profile on Instagram doesn't conceal her handicap, but it doesn't concentrate solely on it. The profile is a statement. that we are all a part of a multitude and that we are all unique and that we are greater than the physical person we are. Lockhart states in the video Lockhart via video "I don't think that should define my character. It's not my intention to have an impact on disability, because I've plenty to offer." My everyday life isn't dependent on it. I live my normal, everyday life and find myself solutions for problems. It's also a part of my life, and I think it's something that needs to be addressed. Lockhart encourages us to keep striving to be self-accepting. However, she acknowledges going through phases with her body and sometimes not being confident in wearing particular types of clothes that showed off her arms. It's her choice to wear what she'd like, and happily shares pictures of her dressed in her favorite outfits. Self-love, she says, is like a journey. "I don't think you will ever be there," she said. However, that is common for anyone with doubts. I think that having people with you who are aware of you and know your heart is really important because they'll be the people that remind you of what are you worrying about?
